Custom Sako L461 Vixen, .222 Remington

The customer commissioned a full custom rifle based on a Sako L461 barreled action. It was requested that it be done as a modern recreation of the rifles created by the Griffin and Howe company during the 1930's. The only variation from that theme was a request that the grip be more open than was typical of the Griffin and Howe style stocks. All other aspects, from shaping to checkering, were done in the spirit of the Griffin and Howe customs. All woodwork and metal finishing done in house with the exception of the engraving and color casehardening.
